Franklin Mountains state park

I spent yesterday tiring myself out in the Tom Mays unit of the Franklin Mountains state park. This is where I had lunch, maybe halfway up to Mundy’s Gap:

Before I left for ELP I bought a highly rated shaving bag off Amazon. It seemed fine until I used it the first time showering at planet fitness. The hanging loop was on the wrong end. If it was hanging and you unzipped it to get something there was an avalanche onto the floor. Grrr..

Hueco Tanks

Spent the weekend at Hueco Tanks state park, my first stay in such a park in my fulltiming adventure.    I want to see state parks but I don’t necessarily want to stay in them. A couple of reasons for this:

Gila national forest

Spent the long weekend on a trip to the Gila NF. There are cliff dwellings up there I wanted to see.

More from Lincoln NF

The trails were quite rocky. I might need boots with a stiffer sole to keep my feet from getting sore. Was trying to get a pic of done moss rose (?) and accidentally included some scat. Some kind of goat?
